At some point in your life, you have probably experienced division between you and a brother or sister in Christ, simply because of your political beliefs. Politics can bring out intense passion. Most strongheld political beliefs are formed from foundational core values – they should be held important. So, getting angry and losing your testimony is just part of what politics is all about, right? We’ve all heard the phrase that “politics is a nasty, dirty game.”
Although that may be the design of the World, that is not the practice we as Believers should follow. We are called to love our brothers and sisters in Christ aside from our differences. Faith Wins wants to break through barriers that have been set before us, in order to UNIFY, not divide.
Now it’s true, there are some political positions that are non-negotiable.
Because, they are clearly laid out in scripture for Believers to be of likemind as followers of Christ. But too, there are policy decisions that Believers can reasonably disagree on, and regardless it’s important that we be able to discuss political disagreements in a way that honors Him and respects others.
But if Believers are to be successful in advocating for FACT and what is RIGHT…then we must focus on how to best effectively share our positions. Not just with those who are likeminded, but also with those who disagree.
We shouldn’t run from political discussions. In fact, it’s up to us to be the salt and light in sharing TRUTH and getting MORE like-minded Believers engaged in the political process. Our nation depends on it. That is why, we want to encourage you to commit to signing the pledge with Faith Wins. This pledge is representative of your understanding that Christians have a purpose in the upcoming elections.
By signing this pledge you are committing to:
- Vote in the upcoming election.
- Inform fellow Christians about issues that impact our faith and families; and
- Encourage fellow Believers to vote their faith values on Election Day.
