As I travel the country, I am seeing firsthand what many of you pastors continue to share with me: countless young people in America are confused about the culture around them. You can see it everywhere. We have debates about who goes to what bathroom that should not even be conversations. We have college protestors chanting “from the river to the sea” who cannot name either one. We have judges releasing repeat offenders who go on to commit predictable and terrible crimes in communities across the nation.
Our culture is in a common sense crisis, and a lot of that confusion shows up most clearly in the younger generation. Many of you have told me that your youth and young adults are searching for direction. Even as you faithfully preach Biblical truth and teach it in your ministries, you know that young people need reinforcement in the places where they spend their time and form their worldview.
One of the biggest challenges is social media. The anti-Christian and anti-American bias is strong, especially on TikTok and Instagram. These platforms shape beliefs, values, and attitudes far more than most young people realize. We cannot ignore that reality. We need to be aware of the voices shaping them and make sure they are hearing truth somewhere in the mix.
Recently, I met with a group of younger pastors, and this topic dominated our conversations. After returning home, we continued talking and began compiling a list of trusted Christian influencers, voices that speak clearly, Biblically, and confidently about the issues young people are wrestling with every day.
This list is meant to be a resource for you. Look through it, use what helps, and share it with your church in any way that strengthens your ministry.
